“We activate the mind power of Faith by affirming words of Faith, giving praise and thanksgiving to God. As we affirm; I have Faith in God; I have Faith in the Spirit; I have Faith in things invisible; these affirmations quicken the mind, making God visible to the mind and strengthens the Faith faculty. This action will bring forth the knowing of the Presence of God, to be received by the giving up of personal attachments and repenting or changing one’s mind.” Charles Fillmore Co-Founder of Unity of Practical Christianity.
There is a highly circulated portion of Da Vinci’s Sistine Chapel masterpiece that depicts the fingers of the hand of God and the hand of man almost about to touch. That stretch, that intensity and struggle typifies the orientation most of us have experienced in our relationship with God. It really is much easier than that but it does require willingness on our part. A willingness to re-orientate ourselves; to refocus our attention; to, in fact, take our attention off the way we see it and allow new “in-sight.” Let us get re-orientated and redefine our direct connection to the Presence that is everywhere present now, loving us and longing to love through us. That Presence waits for our yes to lift us in consciousness. Let us, like a child stepping on to the feet of a trustworthy adult, accept the invitation to glide and Dance through this year. Let us be willing to let Faith in Love lead the way.
