Beloved Community,
As I prepare to leave for my sabbatical, I am filled with awe at the beauty of this community and all the ways we are Being Community to allow this to transpire. Your willingness to honor this time of renewal and ‘sabbath’ is an important acknowledgment of our progress as “an awakened authentic spiritual community consciously creating a world that works for all.”
Barbara Marx Hubbard, a conscious cosmic evolutionary leader and futurist, as well as one of my admired role models for awareness and living in Highest Purpose, spoke at our Unity Convention this week. She acknowledges that many systems of the Universe are appearing to fall apart, but are really ‘rising’ to what is possible. She shared this prophetic and profound awareness:
“what rises converges.”
Everything in our Universe is rising in consciousness, including our community! As we rise together, we converge and become even more One and more cohesive. This ‘sabbatical’ of three months for me is really the movement of Spirit for this community to rise into who we are collectively that we may shine with all that we are and allow Presence to converge us as a unified whole.
We are the body of Christ – the many cells that make up the One. We are an organic alive organism of God consciousness. (Just breathe into this statement and meditate on it for a while … )
As I have shared with many of you, this time for me is a time of renewal and awakening to even greater experiences of following Spirit. I will be listening and following where I am guided to be without all the ‘pre-planning’ that we are so accustomed to in our society. What is it to really listen and follow on a moment by moment basis?
This time for me, it is a ‘walkabout’ in faith and trust – a dance with the Divine. As I follow and allow myself time in nature and stillness, I am also learning to dance. (Literally, I am taking dance lessons!) The metaphor of learning to FOLLOW WITH GRACEis a beautiful metaphor for this journey for me.
As I rise from the heaviness of clumsily stepping around a dance floor, I become ‘light on my feet’ and converge as One with my dance partner. We begin to move with grace and allow the flow of the music to guide us in a joyous dance.
We, too, are RISING, CONVERGING & DANCING IN PARTNERSHIP within this spiritual community. May the time I am away be one filled with graceful flowing movement for all of us!
Please know that you can rely on the team here and you are part of the team that makes this spiritual community come alive! We have amazing leaders who will be here for you throughout the next three months. Our Wisdom Guidance Council of John Cordova, Jerry Govan, Bill Holmes, Cheryl Johnson, Jeff Lobeck, Jude Smith and Catherine Vega will be sharing their wisdom and leadership. Judy Hildebrand will be here from Unity Institute and Ministerial Education Program, and the many leaders within this community will be gathering to continue to uplift this organization together.
They will be communicating their plans for being present with you and we have a great line-up of Sunday messages throughout the summer. This is a time for even more engagement and communication with your spiritual family.
