Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Ministry at Unity of Divine Love honors a long tradition of "going to headquarters" as Charles Fillmore described his communion with God. Unity was founded from a Prayer consciousness that healed co-founder Myrtle Fillmore of a terminal malady. Silent Unity, the Prayer division of the Unity movement, has been in continuous Prayer for over 100 years. We feel our connection with the spirit of God and we enhance that connection through Prayer.

The Prayer consciousness is supported in many ways at Unity of  Divine Love.  We begin with prayer and we end with prayer. We have vibrant Prayer Chaplaincy Program. We support an E-mail Prayer circle and a Prayer request box located prominently in the Sanctuary. These request for  Prayer are also forwarded to Silent Unity where they are held in Prayer for 30 days.

Prayer Chaplains are available before and after service for one on one prayer. They visit hospitals and homes to pray with compassionate hearts. They pray with the people who request prayer on our telephone prayer line. They hold what is shared in the strictest of confidence. Wellness or spiritual enrichment calls are made each month by the Chaplains to their individual groups. Prayer Chaplains pray in the service staff and pray out the Congregation each Sunday.

Meet our Prayer Chaplains

Michael Eneroth

Michael Eneroth, Prayer Chaplain

I am a Unity Truth Student and have been since being guided to Unity in 1990. I served as a Uniteen sponsor and on the Board of Trustees at my first Unity Church. Unity Village, our World Headquarters near Kansas City, was my home for two years as I worked and was permeated by the energy that brought forth the Unity movement.

My active participation in the Prayer Ministry at Unity of Divine Love and my service as a youth education teacher led me to Rev. Lelanni Burt’s Light and Love Ministries in 2005 where I qualified as a Prayer Chaplain Trainer.

I believe that Prayer is the first response to any situation.

Rev. Patrician Edwards, Prayer Chaplain

I was ordained as a New Thought Minister after many years studying Unity Principles, other New Thought Religions, traditional Christianity, and other world religions.

I have identified my life's purpose as living the words in the Lord's Prayer, "Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." My education, avocation, and career as a professional counselor and teacher are dedicated to helping people remove their self-sabotaging patterns of thoughts, beliefs and behaviors. I give them tools so that they may enjoy their full potential and live happy joyous and free lives.

In addition to teaching several classes, I have served as a prayer chaplain for five years. I believe that prayer is primarily a way to access the will of the One Presence and Power, God. God sees us as perfect, knows what is best for us, and desires our good with all the power and love of God's divine heart.

Do you have what it takes to become a Prayer Chaplain?

Praying with other is the greatest spiritual experience one can have on this Earth. The nature of affirmative Prayer connects you with the Divine as you two or more connect in prayer. Prayer Chaplains are committed to their spiritual growth and thoroughly grounded in Unity Principles.
